Marine Corporal Mick Bekowski

Mick was born July 19th 1983 in Walnut Creek, we moved out of the area up to the American River where it was there that it was obviouse he would join the military. He talked about it at a very early age, it was almost like we were prepared for it.

We moved back to the Bay Area and for his 9th grade he went to high school in Petaluma at Casa Grande High School. He lived with his Aunt Sue, Uncle Ken and cousins Corey and Eric Walker (who he idolized very much). He eventually moved back to Concord and Graduated from Concord High school in 2001.

It was in his 12th grade that he decided to become a Marine and enter rightafter graduation and right before 9/11 hit. He was not scared, he was willing to do what ever it was to defend his country.
Mick died during his 2nd tour in Iraq right after turning 21 in In Anbar Province in Fallujah, just 30 days before he was to return home.
We all miss him so very much. Not a day goes by that we dont think about him. Even though we lost Mick we know he died doing  exactly what he was put on this earth to do.
