I went through the Jimmy Sills school of racing thanks to the help of Dave, Bruce and Wendy Thurston along with Jim Wellington. They pitched in and sent me to the school. Jimmy and Rod Fauver were great, and I learned a ton from participating in the school. The on track advice was great, but I learned a lot more in the classroom going through car set up and tuning. After the class, and after some conversation with Jimmy, I ended up with a job for the summer working for Jimmy Sills. What a great opportunity to learn from one of the best Sprint Car and Midget drivers around, and I'm doing what I love to do. Drive race cars, work on race cars, and learn everything I can about racing. Anyone coming up, and getting involved in Sprint Car or Midget racing would sure be doing themselves a huge favor to go to this school. Especially if you are having to wrench your own car. It would have taken me countless trips to the track to learn what I did from Jimmy and Rod in one day. I'm really looking forward to getting onto the dirt this summer in the TNT Racesports car #17. What I'm learning from Jimmy will surely help my pursuit of the BCRA title. Jimmy Sills (National Sprint Car Hall of Fame).. |
