Justin headed to Hanford off a strong run at Petaluma last weekend. The night was to start out with major engine tissues in qualifying. What was thought to be a bad electronic pick-up, turned out to be a broken Rocker. With no time in qualifying Justin and Dave worked desperately to fix the car for the heat race since the main event starting spot was set by heat race finish. It was not to happen, and the car sat idle for the heat races. The car was done just in time for the main event, and Justin was to push off last in the 24 car field due to no points for the evening. This was going to be an extreme test as the track was super fast and tacky. Justin let the field string out, and then went to work. Moving steadily through the field passing high and low, Justin was on a march to the front. He broke into the top ten about mid way, and continued to move forward. A restart on lap 25 saw him get around two cars and into a battle for 2nd, only to have it reverted due to a red flag. On the next restart, the 3rd place car, had fuel issues, and collected Justin sending him back to 7th. tWith only a few laps remaining he was able to get around two cars, but could not catch back up to the third place car, and finished a very solid 4th from the back. Justin battled hard, and once again found a way to turn a disaster night into a very good night. This is one of his trademarks, he never gets rattled, he just plugs away and seems to always find a way to ge the job done. This was a very good run for Justin. Unfortunately he will be forced to skip Calistoga next weekend in the midget, but will be running a non-wing sprint car at Hanford. (Photos by mmracingphotos.com)
