Justin made the most of his night at Petaluma. He drew the #1 pill for qualifying and put down a really good tlap for first out. He ended up 5th after all cars qualified. He tried something new in the heat race and found something he liked, and was looking for a good run in the main event. After starting 8th, he steadily moved forward and by lap 8 he went around Jimmy Christian and Floyd Alvis for the lead. The track had gone away a bit and it turned into a car control race. Justin was able to use the bottom to pull away from the field. Scott Pierovich mounted a late race challenge, but could only gain to within 3 or 4 seconds of the lead before faltering with engine issues. tJustin took the checkered flags in the 30 lap Midget feature, and is pictured below in the winners circle with Kyle Harris, (left), Dave Thurston, (middle), and Steve Harris, (right). Steve founded Racing for the Troops, and is in a major battle with brain cancer, so it is great to have him at the track, especially for a win. Kyle and Justin ran quarter Midgets together, and are in the process of putting a sprint car team together. Kyle will run 360/410 winged races, and Justin will run 360/410 non-wing races. Justin next race will be Hanford on the 23, and then again on August 30th. Justin will be forced to skip Calistoga in the Midget due to engine issues, and will run the non-wing car at Hanford instead. "Thanks again to Kyle for helping with the car this weekend and it's always great to have Steve on hand when he can attend my Midget Races. Once again Dave put a good car under me, and it's great to get the win." ...Justin (Photos by mmracingphotos.com)
